Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church began as a Sunday School in 1925 with 34 people. The Presbyterian Church USA, Synod of Florida was soon asked to organize the group into a church, which was done in January 1926 with 50 members. Services were held in several locations, including at a school house. In 1931 a building fund was established. By June of 1934, the church had raised $2,000 and resolved to start construction of a church building. A lot on the corner of Adonis St. and Juno Crescent Circle was donated, and construction began.
We are so proud to have established our church in The Heart of Hobe Sound and continue with our mission program focuses on those in need, as well as bring love and support through prayer, care, gift cards for necessities, direct food contributions, and financial assistance where needed.
We engage our neighborhood in The Heart of Hobe Sound as well as the surrounding local communities in similar practices. We provide backpacks and fill them with needed school supplies for a local school at the beginning of each school year. We take a weekly food collection for the House of Hope, and make financial contributions to many local charities and agencies, i.e. The Kane Center (services and activities for seniors), Butterfly Project, Molly’s House (lodging for families of hospitalized children), Samaritan House for Boys, and LAHIA help for the homeless.
Above and beyond everything, we welcome everyone. Jesus calls everyone regardless of their profession, background, failures, or success. We commit to studying God’s Word in fellowship, to outreach to God’s people showing Christian care for people in our community and world, and to worship God in meaningful ways, giving all glory to Jesus Christ our Risen Lord who leads the Church now and forevermore.
It’s our belief that we dedicate ourselves to live the gifted life of faith and service to which we have been called, loving God of all creation for continued blessing and inspiration that by the power of the Holy Spirit.
