Rev. Paul Bayerl

Rev. Paul Bayerl began his service at Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church on June 24, 2018. He was born in western Dade County, Florida where his parents were charter members of the Friendship Presbyterian Church. His father was an elder and Sunday School Teacher. His mother was moderator of the WOC and ran the yearly VBS. He grew up with strong love for the church.

Pastor Paul is a graduate of Miami Christian College with a BA in Biblical languages, and of Columbia Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Divinity Degree. He did additional training in pastoral care as a chaplain in what was then Georgia Baptist Hospital.

As he began his ministry here, Pastor Paul was celebrated twenty-eight years of ministry, having served three congregations in Georgia and South Carolina. In the course of these years he has served as adult advisor for the Presbytery Youth Council, and chaired the Presbytery’s Division of Nurture and the Presbytery’s hunger program PATH (Presbyterian Answer to Hunger.) He has served as chair of the Presbytery’s Mission Division and later Mission Team.

He was minister commissioner to the General Assembly in Birmingham, AL in 2006 and has served on the national committee for Self-Development of People as chair of both the Southern and International Task Forces. Most recently he served on the Cultural Context Team and chaired the Presbytery’s Technology committee.
To quote from the biography he provided to the church “I have served in the suburbs and in the country. I am thrilled at the opportunities that I can see in Hobe Sound. My wife Xiomy (pronounced “See-O-Me) and I have been married for three years and together we have four children. We look forward to the chance to get to know each of you.’

Milla Finchum - Treasurer

Milla's love for our church combines with her fantastic ability in all things financial. Milla is the Treasurer and works to ensure we are always being good stewards of God's gifts.

Carla Tinsley - Sexton

Carla takes incredible care of our church buildings an property. In addition, Carla is a phenomenal cook and a wonderfully devoted Deacon.

Diane Atkisson - Administrative Assistant

"After helping out in the office one day a week for several weeks, Diane has officially assumed the position of Administrative Assistant. She runs the church office Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM until noon. With her ready smile and cheerful personality, she is indeed a pleasure to work with, and is an exceptional addition to our staff."
